The contest is open to the public (any age) and all submissions need to fit the following criteria:

- Limit of 3 submissions per person.
Submissions can be emailed to email@example.com now through August 1, 2017. Winners will be announced by August 15, 2017 and will be asked to sign a release form along with signed releases from any persons featured in the winning photos. The bank will provide all release forms to winning contestants for completion.
The exhibition is one of the Nebraska 150 Commission’s “signature events” and is a collaborative project of the Hildegard Center, Nebraska Tourism Commission and Nebraska State Historical Society. Last year, the three organizations issued a statewide call to amateur and professional photographers, inviting them to capture images of historic sites or hidden treasures across Nebraska. More than 800 photo submissions were received. The work of 61 photographers is represented in the exhibit.
Jurors for the photos were professional photographer Joel Sartore, a contributor to National Geographic Magazine; George Tuck, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln professor emeritus of photography; and professional photographers Bobbi and Steve Olson of Palmyra, Nebraska.
The World-Herald includes all winning photographs in its newly published book, “Nebraska: 150 Years Told Through 93 Counties.’’ The State Tourism Commission features 14 of the photos in its 2017 state calendar.
Durr has painted a wide variety of subjects over the years, from farmland and golf courses to abstracts. He has also painted murals. His sense of humor and his love of cuisine are paramount in several paintings that reference French food and culture; but John’s Nebraska roots and love of wide open spaces frequently inspire paintings drawn from the memories of his childhood in Nebraska City, NE. Durr uses texture, color and sometimes, spices, in many of his paintings to allow the viewer a more intimate experience of his art.

The “Plat Book Illustrations 150” show is primarily large scale landscapes done in acrylic on canvas. I tried to express the subtle beauty, mystery & quiet of Nebraska. My inspirations were squares in Plat Books, topographic maps & traveling through this beautiful state. My paintings are in many private collections from New York City to San Francisco.
